Gotopo is a versatile singer, composer, producer, and provocative performer who sees the future in her South American past. She masters folk string instruments and writes techno-inspired jams that reveal an Afro-Indigenous heritage.
Born in Caracas, Venezuela, Gotopo began her musical education in the city of Barquisimeto, home to a renowned music conservatory. As a child, she trained in the youth orchestra El Sistema, the influential program that produced Gustavo Dudamel, the conductor of the Los Angeles Philharmonic. Recently, True to her futuristic ancestral lineage, she focuses on blurring the boundaries between classical and club music, between science and pop culture.
