Mihret Kebede (she/her) is a multidisciplinary artist and poet who co-founded the Tobiya Poetic Jazz
of Tobiya Poetic Jazz, the Netsa Art Village Artists Collective and the Addis International Video Art Festival. Mihret's artistic journey includes numerous local and international art exhibitions exhibitions, workshops, poetry performances and cross-cultural
collaborative projects. In addition to her creative work, she is recognised for her pivotal role in organising local and international art events and festivals.
Her works, poems and essays have been published in renowned publications such as ‘Wax and Gold: Poetry Jazz’ by Tobiya Poetic Jazz and Institute for Spatial Experiments/Studio Olafur Eliasson, ‘Silent Power’ Silence and Decolonisation and Modernist Art in Ethiopia. In addition, her poems have been published in renowned journals and in the first ever anthology of Amharic poetry in English ‘Songs We Learn from Trees.
Mihret is currently a PhD candidate at the Academy of Fine Arts in Vienna.
